Ship 36 - Sea Scout Landship Wapahoni

During the 1940's, the Delaware County Council of Boy Scouts had an active Sea Scout Ship. In 1945, a landship was built at Camp Red Wing along the White River. It was under the leadership of Ernest Ebrite. Besides being the Skipper of Ship 36, Mr. Ebrite has also served as Scoutmaster of Troop 36 . He served as Camp Director of Camp Red Wing for 16 years and on several occasions served as interim Council Executive. Thanks to Ed Ebrite for the information on this page.

This early photo shows part of the Ship's Crew. The second from the left is Skipper Ernest Ebrite holding the ship's wheel that he made.
