WAH-PE-KAH-ME-KUNK - LODGE 512
The Wah-Pe-Kah-Me-Kunk Lodge 512 of the Order of the Arrow was charted to the Delaware County Coucil of Boy Scouts on April 25, 1955. It existed until Feb 4, 1973 when it merged with Lodge 21 - Crossroads of America Council. Wah-Pe-Kah-Me-Kunk is a Native America word meaning "Bend in the River."
OA Lodge Flap Patches
There were five different flaps issued. The first (F1) was was a little longer than normal - it hung over
the pocket a bit. The black flaps (S1,S2,S3) were restricted and the blue flap (S4) was for trade.
Notice a spelling change after the F1. [Thanks to Jerry Ford for the F1. Jerry was one of the Scouts who helped start the original Lodge 512 in 1955]

Lodge Neckerchief
This neckerchief was a Lodge project at the 1969 Area 7-G Conclave held at Camp Bear Creek. Paul Stout recalls that they were cut to 40 inch square and then silk screened. It was up to the individual to hem the edged if desired.
1962 OA Conclave
This is my favorite OA Patch. It was for the 1962 OA Conclave held at Camp Red Wing - Muncie, Indiana
Lodge Totem
The "Thunderbird" was used for the Lodge Totem. Most were made of aluminum. Some may be found made of brass or copper and some may have "512" and/or "WWW" stamped on them. The totem is still used by the Wah-Pe-Kah-Me-Kunk Chapter of Lodge 21.
1967 Winter Banquet
This patch is made of leather.
1968 Area 7-G Conference
This patch shows "Indian Jim". Indian Jim lived on the Rees farm where Camp Red Wing is located. This image was drawn by Tom Ryan around 1959. Tom Ryan drew the "Tumbleweeds" cartoon strip and lived in Muncie.
1968 OA Neckerchief
This neckerchief was used at Camp Red Wing when Lodge 512 was host to the 7-G Conference.

1971 Spring Fellowship
This patch was designed using the "Thunderbird" image. This image was also used for the Lodge Totem.
Lodge Painting
This painting was made by the mother of Charlie Largent in the early 1960's. Mr. Largent was Scout Executive and Camp Director from 1955 to 1964. This image was used on tee-shirts and other lodge items.
